Asthma is a respiratory disease in which the airways become inflamed. Due to which the windpipe narrows, due to which the breath is not able to reach the lungs, and the person starts having a lot of trouble in breathing and this disease troubles the people suffering from this disease in winter. And due to increasing air pollution, the patients of this disease also increase significantly.

Symptoms of Asthma

If we talk about its common symptoms, then there is difficulty in breathing due to which there are problems like loud breathing, coughing in the form of seizures, shortness of breath. Sometimes when there is a lot of problem, the sound of whistling starts coming in the breath. When coughing in asthma, phlegm is not able to come out.

Even if you do not have any heart disease, yet you have a problem of tightness in your chest, then it can also be a problem of asthma.

Asthma problems can be more severe at night or in the morning. It can also be interpreted simply as this. That this disease bothers more in the cold.

Causes of Asthama-

There is no single cause of asthma. There are many reasons for this. Such as perfume fragrances, dust mites, flour dust, pollen of some flowers, animal hair fibers, termites, cigarette smoke, air pollution, pan odor, perfumed products, aspirin or certain other drugs, sulfites in food Frequent crying or laughing, stress, infection, family history, obesity, food cravings, mosquito coil smoke, etc.

What are the types of asthma?

There are many types of asthma such as-

Allergic Asthma-

This asthma is caused by allergic substances such as dust mites, perfume smell, bedbugs, pollen grains of a particular type of flower, etc.

Non Allergic Asthma-

When a person is under stress and suddenly starts feeling cold or cold, then it is called non-allergic asthma.

Occupational asthma-

This type of asthma occurs suddenly while doing the same work every day..

Exercise induced asthma

When a person does a lot of exercise or does more physical work, then this type of asthma starts complaining.

Child onset asthma-

Complications of this type of asthma occur only in children, as children with this type of asthma start growing up. Their asthma complaints start going away on their own. This asthma is not very serious.

Tests to detect Asthma-

Doctors mainly recommend spirometry test to diagnose asthma. This shows the capacity of your lungs, in which the spirometer is used to find out how much air your lungs can hold inside. And how easily air moves in and out of your lungs, its results are given in the form of values and graphs.

But this test is not recommended to diagnose asthma in children under the age of 6.

Asthma treatment-

  • Asthma patients must consume green leafy vegetables. Green leafy vegetables do not allow phlegm to stop in the lungs, which does not cause an asthma attack. Especially spinach and carrot are very beneficial in asthma.
  • Garlic, ginger, turmeric and black pepper enhance the body’s immunity to fight asthma.
  • Vitamin C also keeps asthma away from our body. Vitamin C is rich in antioxidants which protect our body from free radicals. Due to which the risk of asthma attack is reduced to a great extent.
  • Consumption of hot water can also save you to a great extent from asthma, so make sure to use 10 lukewarm water every day and especially in the morning.
  • Brown Rice- Brown rice is very beneficial for lung related diseases especially asthma.
  • Pulses- Pulses are rich in protein, especially yellow and green moong lentils, black gram, soybean, Kulthi are very beneficial for the lungs.
  • Apple – In an experiment conducted in Britain, it has been found that people who regularly consume apples have a 32% lower risk of asthma than people who do not eat apples. According to researchers, this is due to flavonoids, flavonoids open the veins that carry blood to the lungs.
  • Consumption of jaggery and milk in winter can also be very beneficial for asthma. Jaggery and milk are rich in protein, potassium, good fat, vitamin B, phosphorus, calcium, magnesium, iron, copper, and ZINC, etc. many types of micronutrients are found. It plays an important role in increasing immunity.

Ayurvedic medicines to cure Asthma-

  • Kanakasav- Kanakasava is very beneficial in breathing, cough, asthma, phlegm in the chest. In this, mainly Kanaka i.e. Dhatura is used mainly, besides this there are 14 herbs including Vasa, Kantakari and Madhuk.
  • Pushkarmool- This is also very beneficial in asthma and respiratory diseases.
  • Kantakari Avaleha- Kantakari Avaleha is very beneficial in asthma. It plays an important role in clearing the sticky substances present in the throat.
  • Sitopaladi Churna- The herbs present in Sitopaladi Churna strengthen the respiratory system and lungs as well as provide energy. It is the perfect medicine for asthma.
  • Agastyaharitaki Avaleh – Agastyaharitaki Avaleh gives strength to the lungs. It is very beneficial for many respiratory diseases. Apart from this, it is also beneficial in cough and hiccups.
  • Chyawanprash- Chyawanprash contains a good amount of Vitamin C along with many herbs. Which is very beneficial in asthma.
  • Vasavaleh- Vasavaleh helps to dilate our respiratory tubes. Due to which the problem like suffocation gets relief. It works quite well mainly on our respiratory system.
  • Kantakari- It plays an important role in clearing the stickiness prevailing in the lungs.
  • Ginger- The beneficial elements present in ginger are beneficial to a great extent in respiratory problems. It is very beneficial in the problem of shortness of breath.
  • Ajwain- The anti-inflammatory properties of carom seeds are very beneficial in asthma.
  • Adusa- The anti-inflammatory properties present in Adusa are very beneficial in asthma. It is quite beneficial in reducing inflammation of the respiratory tract and lungs. Ginger juice with 5-5 ml juice of Adusa leaves and honey is very beneficial in asthma.
  • A decoction of drumstick leaves also benefits in asthma.
  • Pomegranate- The anti-inflammatory property of pomegranate provides great benefits in respiratory problems. Its use in asthma can be very beneficial.
  • Banana- Apart from the nutrients and antioxidants present in banana, there is abundant potassium which is beneficial for the lungs as well as keeping the body healthy. and facilitates the movement of breath.
  • Tulsi- Antioxidants present in Tulsi are very beneficial in asthma, so people suffering from asthma must use Tulsi.

What should be avoided in asthma?

In asthma, cold, sulfite, gas-forming things as well as fast food should be avoided.
